Meta Lead Ads

Connect your Facebook Pages to automatically generate consent certificates for every lead submitted through Meta Lead Ad forms. eConsent captures the full form definition, consent language, disclaimer responses, and ad attribution, producing a tamper-proof certificate that can be delivered to your CRM in real time.

  1. A consumer submits a Lead Ad form on Facebook or Instagram.
  2. Meta sends a real-time webhook event to eConsent.
  3. eConsent fetches the complete lead data via the Graph API (v25.0), including form structure, consumer responses, and ad attribution.
  4. A consent certificate is generated with a visual form replay, consent language, and full attribution details.
  5. The certificate is delivered to your CRM via webhooks.
  • A Facebook App with the following approved permissions:
    • pages_manage_metadata
    • leads_retrieval
    • pages_show_list
  • At least one Facebook Page with an active Lead Ad campaign.
  • Meta Lead Ads must be enabled for your organization. Contact support or have a super root toggle it on.
  1. Navigate to Channels > Meta Lead Ads in your dashboard.
  2. Click Connect Facebook Page and complete the OAuth authorization flow.
  3. Grant the required permissions when prompted.
  4. Select the Page(s) you want to subscribe to lead events.

Every certificate generated from a Meta Lead Ad includes the following data:

Data pointDescription
QuestionsAll form questions and their field types
Consumer responsesThe values submitted by the consumer
Disclaimer/consent textThe full disclaimer language displayed on the form
Disclaimer responseThe consumer’s response to each disclaimer
Data pointDescription
ad_idThe ID of the ad that generated the lead
adgroup_idThe ad group (ad set) ID
campaign_idThe campaign ID
form_idThe Lead Ad form ID
platformFacebook or Instagram
is_optimized_for_qualityWhether Meta flagged the lead as optimized for quality

Additional tracking parameters attached to the Lead Ad are captured and included in the certificate metadata.

Certificates generated from Meta Lead Ads include:

  • Visual form replay. A rendered snapshot of the exact form the consumer saw, including all questions, disclaimers, and responses.
  • Source badge. Certificates are tagged with a “Meta Lead Ads” source badge for easy identification.
  • Secure sharing. Each certificate is accessible via a unique, secure link and includes a QR code for quick access.

If a certificate fails to generate (for example, due to a transient API error), you can retry generation using the Refire button on the lead event detail page. This re-fetches the lead data from Meta and attempts to generate the certificate again.

  • 90-day data retention. Meta only retains lead data for 90 days after submission. Certificates must be generated within this window. Refire attempts after 90 days will fail.
  • Facebook App Review. Your Facebook App must have the required permissions approved through Meta App Review. Without approval, you will not be able to subscribe to lead events in production.
